Understanding Document Privacy
Whisperit allows you to control who can access your documents through privacy settings. Each document can be marked as either Private or Public, giving you complete control over document visibility and access.
Privacy Setting Options
Private Documents: • Only visible to you and users you specifically share them with • Marked with a "Private" label on the document card • Cannot be accessed by other workspace members unless explicitly shared • Ideal for sensitive legal documents, personal notes, and confidential information
Public Documents: • Visible to all members of your workspace • Marked with a "Public" label on the document card • Can be accessed and viewed by any workspace colleague • Suitable for templates, shared resources, and collaborative documents

Best Practices for Privacy Settings
Default to Private: • Create new documents as Private by default • Only change to Public when collaboration is needed • Review privacy settings regularly
For Sensitive Documents: • Always keep client information Private • Mark confidential legal documents as Private • Use Private setting for work-in-progress documents • Review who has access before sharing
For Shared Resources: • Make templates Public for team access • Use Public setting for reference documents • Share best practices as Public documents • Mark training materials as Public
Workspace Collaboration Considerations
When using Public documents: • All workspace members can view the content • Consider the sensitivity of information before making Public • Remember that Public documents appear in workspace-wide searches • Team members can find and reference Public documents easily
When using Private documents: • You maintain full control over access • Use the Share feature to grant specific access when needed • Private documents don't appear in other users' searches • Ideal for maintaining confidentiality
Privacy and Document Organization
My Documents Section: • Contains all documents you've created • Displays both Private and Public documents you own • Privacy labels help you identify document visibility at a glance
Shared with Me Section: • Shows documents others have shared with you • May include Private documents you've been granted access to • Displays Public documents from your workspace
