What is Smart Transcription?

Smart Transcription is an advanced feature in Whisperit that enhances the accuracy and quality of your voice-to-text transcriptions. When enabled, it applies intelligent processing to improve grammar, punctuation, and formatting of your dictated content.

How to Enable Smart Transcription

  1. Open any document in Whisperit

  2. Look for the Smart Transcription toggle at the bottom of the document editor

  3. Click the toggle to turn it ON (it will appear highlighted when active)

  4. Begin dictating or continue your voice input

The feature will now automatically enhance your transcriptions in real-time.

How to Disable Smart Transcription

If you prefer raw, unprocessed transcriptions:

  1. Locate the Smart Transcription toggle at the bottom of the document

  2. Click it to turn it OFF

  3. Your voice input will now be transcribed without additional processing

Key Benefits

Smart Transcription offers several advantages:

• Improved Accuracy: Automatically corrects common transcription errors • Better Formatting: Adds appropriate punctuation and capitalization • Professional Output: Produces more polished, publication-ready text • Time Savings: Reduces the need for manual editing and corrections • Context Awareness: Understands legal terminology and professional language

When to Use Smart Transcription

Smart Transcription is ideal for:

• Drafting legal documents and contracts • Creating client correspondence • Preparing case notes and memoranda • Dictating professional emails • Recording meeting summaries

When to Turn It Off

You may want to disable Smart Transcription when:

• Transcribing witness statements verbatim • Recording exact quotes or testimony • Capturing informal notes that don't require polish • Dictating in technical or highly specialized contexts where automatic corrections might interfere

Best Practices

• Test Both Modes: Try Smart Transcription on and off to see which works best for your workflow • Speak Clearly: Even with Smart Transcription, clear enunciation improves results • Review Output: Always review transcribed content, especially for critical legal documents • Toggle as Needed: Don't hesitate to turn the feature on or off mid-document based on your needs • Use with Voice Commands: Combine with voice commands like "period" or "new paragraph" for best results
