What is Document Exporting?

Whisperit provides flexible export options that allow you to save and share your documents in various formats. Whether you need to send a document via email, download it for offline use, or copy content in different formats, Whisperit makes it easy to export your work.

How to Access Export Options

  1. Open the document you want to export

  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top right corner of the document

  3. Select your preferred export option from the menu

Available Export Options

Whisperit offers several export formats to suit different needs:

Email Options: • Email to me: Sends the document directly to your registered email address • Compose email: Opens an email composer where you can send the document to any recipient

Download Options: • Download as Word (.docx): Exports the document as a Microsoft Word file that you can edit in Word or other compatible word processors • Convert to Text (.txt): Downloads the document as a plain text file, removing all formatting

Copy Options: • Copy HTML: Copies the document content with HTML formatting to your clipboard • Copy Text: Copies the plain text content without any formatting • Copy Markdown: Copies the document content in Markdown format, preserving basic formatting like headers and lists

When to Use Each Format

Word (.docx): • When you need to further edit the document in Microsoft Word • For formal document sharing with clients or colleagues • When formatting and structure need to be preserved

Plain Text (.txt): • For simple text without formatting • When file size needs to be minimal • For compatibility with basic text editors

HTML Copy: • When pasting into web-based content management systems • For email clients that support rich HTML formatting • When embedding in web pages

Markdown Copy: • For documentation platforms that support Markdown • When publishing to GitHub, GitLab, or similar platforms • For conversion to other formats using Markdown processors

Plain Text Copy: • When you need just the text content without any formatting • For pasting into systems that don't support rich text • Quick copying for reference purposes

Best Practices

• Review Before Exporting: Always review your document before exporting to ensure accuracy • Choose the Right Format: Select the export format based on your intended use • Test Compatibility: If sending to others, consider what formats they can easily open • Use Email Options Wisely: The "Email to me" option is great for quick backups • Preserve Formatting: Use Word or HTML exports when formatting is important • Consider File Size: Plain text exports are smallest, Word files are larger

Troubleshooting

Export not working: • Ensure you have a stable internet connection • Check that your browser allows downloads • Try a different export format

Formatting issues: • If formatting isn't preserved, try the Word (.docx) export instead of plain text • HTML and Markdown exports preserve different types of formatting

Email not received: • Check your spam folder • Verify your email address in account settings • Try the "Compose email" option as an alternative
