Last updated 3 months ago

Creating and managing cases in Whisperit is straightforward. This guide covers how to create new cases, edit case details, and manage your case workspace effectively.

How to create a new case

  1. Navigate to the Cases page from the sidebar

  2. Click on the New Case card (shows "Up to 1'000 files")

  3. Your new case will be created and opened automatically

  4. Start adding a case name and description

Naming your case

When you create a new case:

  1. Click on the case name at the top of the page

  2. Enter a descriptive name that clearly identifies the matter

  3. The name is saved automatically

Best naming practices

• Use client names or matter numbers
• Include matter type (e.g., "Smith Contract Review" or "Jones v. ABC Corp Litigation")
• Keep names concise but descriptive
• Use consistent naming conventions across all your cases

Adding case description

Below the case name, you can add detailed information about the case:

• Case background and context
• Key parties involved
• Important dates or deadlines
• Case objectives or goals
• Any other relevant details

This description helps provide context for you, your colleagues, and the AI assistant.

Managing case files

Each case supports up to 1000 files:

Adding files

  1. Look for the Files section in your case

  2. Upload relevant documents, contracts, correspondence, or evidence

  3. Files are automatically associated with the case

File organization

The Files section shows:

• File count (e.g., "Files (1)")
• List of uploaded documents
• Quick access to all case files

Managing parties

The Parties section allows you to:

• Add people involved in the case
• Track party information (names, contact details)
• Keep all party information organized in one place

The section displays the party count (e.g., "Parties (4)").

Using the AI assistant within cases

Once your case is set up:

  1. Use the "What can I help you with?" input field

  2. The AI assistant has access to all case files and context

  3. Use Legal Research mode for in-depth analysis

  4. Use Load Prompt and Save Prompt for frequently used queries

Starting case analysis

The Start Analysis button provides quick access to AI-powered case analysis based on your case files and information.

Understanding case limits

Whisperit accounts have case limits:

• Check your current usage at the top of the Cases page (e.g., "1 of 1 case limit")
• Upgrade your plan if you need more cases
• Archive or delete old cases to free up space

Editing case details

All changes are saved automatically.
